Clean your skin with Youth To The People’s Superfood Cleanser, a gentle cleanser that’s great for all skin types. It’s free from sulfate and packed with greens (spinach, kale and green tea) – so pretty much a salad for your face! Youth To The People’s products are biodegradable, vegan and cruelty-free. For packaging, they use glass jars and recyclable paper that’s manufactured with 100% renewable energy.
The Green Tea Balancing Toner by Innisfree is made with a hydrating formula that balances the oil to moisture ratio of your skin. Innisfree uses 80% natural ingredients that are sourced from the island of Jeju. Innisfree has implemented an in-store recycling programme so customers can recycle their packaging in return for points that can be used later. They have also created initiatives around sustainability with my favourite being the Play Green Campaign which is based around spreading knowledge and awareness surrounding sustainability
The Ordinary is a great gateway brand to add some sustainable serums to your skincare routine. They’re affordable with 100% plant-based ingredients. Hot tip: the bottles are super cute and can be reused. Give them a good clean first and fill up those travel size bottles for your next trip. Re:P’s Ultra Nourishing Cream, made with natural oils, not only hydrates the skin but also helps anti-aging. Re:P uses clean ingredients that won’t damage your skin or the environment. They also opt for eco-friendly packaging that can be easily recycled. For a more intense moisturiser, try French-girl go-to Caudalie’s SOS Intense Moisturising Cream. The cream uses naturally harvested grape water which creates a base rich in moisture. Their packaging is made out of recycled paper and plant plastic when possible. Caudalie also partners with 1% for the Planet project which is an organisation that supports numerous sustainable programmes.
Who doesn’t love a good facemask? Cult favourite Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask by Glow Recipe not only smells delicious and is nourishing, but it’s also sustainable. Glow Recipe is striving to be carbon neutral by 2022 and currently derive their ingredients from natural sources only. Plus, their packaging is easy to reuse and fully recyclable. Another great option is Lesse’s Bioactive Face Masque that helps treat aging, sun damage, pollution and breakouts.
