How we are Staying Occupied in lockdown
Just incase you needed some inspiration, here are some fun activities to add to your lockdown bucket list.
Words: Anna Lowe
Don’t know about you but we have made ourselves sick eating batch after batch of banana bread, the sourdough mum attempted last week has gone stale, our walls are now over filled with artsy bits and pieces and slowly we are running out of hobbies to take up in iso.
In case this is you too, we have compiled a little list of sustainable activities to help you survive isolation whilst you’re at home;
Declutter your wardrobe – Cleaning out your wardrobe is always a good idea. But do not, under any circumstances, throw your clothes out!! Look up some fun ways to rework your unwanted clothing or donate them to an Op-Shop.
Whip up some yummy meals. Peep these recipes that help you use up food that would have otherwise gone to waste.
Have a digital clean up – did you know that A typical email generates 4g of CO2 emissions, 50g if it has a picture attachment. This is because emails use electricity to send and store data. So by clearing out old emails you can actually help the environment! This doesn’t just apply to emails, getting rid of unused documents, apps and photos will also help.
Go on a walk and listen to some sustainability focused podcasts. Our top picks: Girlboss Radio. Sustainability Defined, MOSS, Sustainababble.
Go on a virtual museum tour through Google Arts & Culture.
Have a self-iso photoshoot – honestly a great way to make yourself boost your confidence in iso. It’s simple, open your camera, aim your phone and pose.
Jump on the gardening trend and plant yourself a little veggie patch, you’ll be surprised how fun and rewarding it is.
Have a Netflix Party with your friends and watch a sustainable documentary.
Channel your inner Elle Woods and take a free Ivy League course.
You’re spending more time at home (we hope) so why not clean your house with some DIY eco-cleaning products.
Most importantly send some love to your friends and family, and look after yourself xx
