The True Cost (2015) 

Because we are two fashion-loving gals, we found this one particularly eye-opening. I’m sure we can all agree we love a bargain and have more than once before caved for a cheaper alternative. The True Cost might make us rethink this. The documentary takes us on an investigation into just how big the impact the fast fashion has on the earth. Not only do we throw away 11 billion tons of textile waste per year, but fashion manufacturing is one of the biggest polluters in the world, second only to the oil industry.

Wasted! The Story of Food Waste (2017)

Narrated by none other than Anthony Bourdain, Wasted! sheds light on the monstrous amount of food that gets wasted every year in comparison to the millions of people who live without food in poverty. The doco also delves into the smart, inventive solutions many companies have come up with to combat this solution, as well as what you can do at home to waste less food.
